Assymetrical glass table-lamp.

This is a vintage table lamp made of Murano glass,

recognizable by its organic, mushroom-like shape and

the characteristic white-orange striped patterns in the glass.

A Mid-century modern or post-modern design and

has a diffuse, warm light that shines through the colored glass.

Murano glass, with roots in the 7th-8th century, became

the premier European glassmaking hub in 1291 when Venice ordered

furnaces moved to the island to prevent fires and protect trade secrets.

Famed for inventions like cristallo and filigree, artisans developed unparalleled luxury techniques,

enduring centuries of boom, decline under foreign rule, and 19th-century rebirth.
